Firefighter clowns entertain local school kids The Denton County Fire Department’s Clowns on Fire brought their “Moana” themed safety program to Bowie, Forestburg and Montague on Monday. The team used the popular film characters to discuss water safety, tool and toys and smoke alarms. They performed at 35 schools before about 10,000 kids. ...

Change your clocks! Change your smoke alarm batteries!

CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS, CHANGE YOUR BATTERIES!
We have a time change tomorrow night.

Check your smoke detectors and replace batteries. Use compressed air to blow out dust.
Check the expiration date! Detectors are good for 10 years then need to be replaced.

Also, check fire extinguishers for pressure. If you have a dry chemical extinguisher, flip it upside down and tap the bottom to help prevent the powder from caking.

Member Spotlight:

New member alert!!! Jered Wise joined our team this season and has worked hard to learn all of the roles. He is being coached to take over being the primary sound guy for Denton Clowns on Fire. Jered has been with DFD for 3 years but has over 11 years in the fire service. This is his first time being involved with community risk reduction. He was looking to be involved and make a difference.
Please welcome Jered to our team!

Thank you Texas LAFS board member Dan Walsh for coming to support and see our program! Texas LAFS is a non-profit organization consisting of board of firefighters that organize a Life And Fire Safety conference every year in the DFW area! This conference provides several classes and opportunities for other departments to learn community outreach with characterization.
