Senior Send Off

Our entry into the 2017 Minerva March during TWU Homecoming, won the Most Creative Award. The brown tubes represent oil pipelines dripping oil. As your President, I was honored to represent ASL in this years Homecoming celebrations.

Tomorrow, we will have a "float" in the Minerva Parade at the Denton campus at 4:00pm beginning at the Pioneer Circle (where the Music and Art and Anne Stewart Science buildings are) and proceeding around campus. ASL float (golf cart) theme is "Water is Life" Protect Our Water. If you are on campus, come out and help decorate at 2:30pm.

Come out and celebrate TWU Homecoming. I hope to see you there.

Spring 2017 Induction Ceremony will be held tomorrow April 6 at 5:30 pm in the ACT building, room 301. We will have a reception immediately following at Stoddard Hall commons area. Please join us to welcome our new members to Alpha Sigma Lambda - Sigma Rho chapter.

I want to encourage everyone to know what is going on in your local government, city council, school board, state and federal legislation. Please vote local and state as well as federally. Our government needs a lot of work and needs to listen to the people. Whether you are Republican, Democrat or Independent voters, please get out the vote. Make your voice heard. There will be local and some state voting in May and then again in November this year.

Welcome back! I wanted to let you know of some road closings, so that you can be prepared to come to school early enough to make adjustments.

Bell Avenue between Texas Street and Administration Drive closed through Jan. 24 for construction

The City of Denton will close Bell Avenue between College Street and Administration Drive to both north and southbound through traffic through Jan. 24 to install a water line for future university needs, as well as a new crosswalk TWU has requested for our students. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete by Jan. 24.

College Street, Texas Street and Administration Drive will remain open for local traffic and access to parking. Those needing to walk across Bell Avenue to reach MCL and university parking lots are asked to walk across the street at Administration Drive or at College or Texas Streets. Through traffic will be diverted to Mingo to North Ruddell to University and back onto Bell Avenue.

The university recognizes that this will impact students and the entire campus community leading into the first few days of classes for the spring semester. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.
