Hope Green of Emojis Classic Grilled Cheese was our Career Speaker today! Besides many good tips about entrepreneurship, she also shared her delicious grilled cheese sandwiches: chicken and pesto, tomato and pesto, meatballs, and cinnamon. They were so good!

Career Speakers Series on Friday, December 4, 2015. We had Homicide Detective Paul Salo from the Travis County share his experiences and tell us about possible careers in the field of law enforcement . We even saw crime scene pictures! Senior Marcos I. introduced the speaker.

This year the AVID McCallum students and the College/Career Center are sponsoring a Career Speakers Series open to all McCallum students. Our McCallum parents and friends have been wonderful by volunteering to come and speak to our students! Our first speakers were engineers Rod Taylor and John Logan on Friday, November 20th, 2015. Senior Deeviera E. introduced the speakers.

AVID Students visited University of Texas at Austin on December 2, 2015. We toured the campus, visited VisLab, visited with a student panel, and then had lunch at Jester. Thanks to UT Outreach and Taurin Roberts for making this visit possible. Our tour guide, Courtney was so knowledgeable and friendly. Future Longhorns in the making!
