What does literacy development look like for our young learners? It looks like modeling letter formation, it looks like reading to students and having them begin to look at books themselves, it looks like fine motor activities to build their hand muscles for writing, it looks modeling sounds and writing, it looks like scaffolding how to write their name and students practicing it, it looks like locating certain letters in words, and it looks like sound recognition for beginning sounds in words. Literacy development happens all throughout our lessons and days 🐾♥️
