Happy Digital Citizenship Week! All over the Denton ISD, librarians have been sharing lessons with students on how we can all be good digital citizens. Here at Gonzalez, our Pre-K students participated in a device sorting activity, discussed safe ways to use devices, and read the book Unplugged by Steve Antony.

We also watched a short video presented by Common Sense Media. You can find links to the video below in English and Spanish. Common Sense Media is a great resource for families to find information about making safe, healthy choices with technology.

OH NO!! Coco the Library Monkey scribbled in a book when Mrs. Crossland wasn’t looking! 😦

Thankfully our library lesson this week was all about learning how to treat books with kindness and respect. We all believe Coco will make better choices in the future! ❤️

Here in the library, we LOVE when special guests come to read! This week we have been so fortunate to have many wonderful district leaders read to our students. Exciting news!!!! Mrs. Crossland received a grant from the Denton Public School Foundation to attend the Texas Library Association annual conference in April!🎉

In honor of International Dot Day, Gonzalez students and staff are encouraged to wear dots tomorrow! Inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, International Dot Day celebrates the amazing things that can happen when we are brave enough to trust ourselves!

Book Fair hours are 7:20-2:30 and we will also be open during Informational Night on Tuesday, 9/17. Families who would like to shop with their children can do so before school, or can coordinate with the classroom teacher to find a time during the school day.
