Over the weekend, students from Guyer, Crownover and Harpool orchestras attended the Dallas Symphony. After the concert, students were able to visit with former RCMS/GHS orchestra member Christian Luevano, who is in his first season as Associate Principal Bass of the DSO. We are so proud of Christian and all of our alumni doing amazing things in their careers!

This year our annual solo & ensemble recitals featured 77 performances across 3 nights. All of the students did a fantastic job presenting their pieces to their audiences. Most of the students who volunteered to perform were preparing for this weekend’s district solo & ensemble contest and we know they will bring back some great ratings and feedback from their judges!

We are especially happy to recognize Ms. Bourey as our RCMS staff member of the year. Ms. Bourey is a past RCMS/GHS orchestra parent. For many years after her children have graduated from our program and are now well into adulthood, Ms. Bourey has continued to seek out ways to help our our orchestra program, including opening and supervising our room for morning student practice for many years when Ms. Harvey was assigned to elementary campuses in the mornings, attending and assisting at many of our concerts, repairing uniforms, and many other tasks. Ms Bourey has a full plate working as an inclusion specialist with many students on our campus but still seeks out ways to help our orchestra students and program on her own time. We are so appreciative of her and excited that she has been recognized by our campus!
