Elect Dr. Andrew Shyong Demarest Board of Education Dr. Shyong works as a Dentist in Closter and is a proud alum of the Demarest School System.

Dr. Shyong is an NVD Alum, Princeton University Graduate, and a Columbia University Graduate; he is excited to serve the community he loves and enhance academic and extracurricular excellence for Northern Valley High School Students! Dr. Andrew Shyong is running for the Demarest seat of the NVRHS BOE.

Dr. Shyong and his

family have been proud members of the NVD community for over 40 years! His family currently provides an academic scholarship to graduating seniors in his Mother's name (a long time teacher at Demarest Middle School). He currently serves as the Alumni interviewer for Princeton applicants in Bergen County. Dr. Shyong aspires not only to excel in academics but also to cultivate growth across every facet of high school life—embracing extracurricular pursuits as opportunities to develop character, leadership, and a well-rounded sense of purpose for all students.

Today solidified why I am running for the BOE: to ensure our students are given fair, accurate information, and are able to critically think in the digital world.
Unfortunately, a mailer was sent that was completely made up in every aspect. This hurts not only my family and I but also our community. We strive to work together instead of pointing fingers at eachother.
