Want to make a difference, but not sure where to help? Our volunteer training this Saturday is a great place to start.

Maybe horses aren’t your thing and that’s okay. There are so many ways to be part of what happens here.

♞ We need volunteers to help with ranch and grounds maintenance
♞ Lend a hand at fundraising events, assist behind the scenes
♞ Or to simply be an encouraging presence for a nervous child

Every role matters, and you don’t need to be a “horse person” to make an impact.

We would love to have you join us at the ranch August 29th at 10 AM to learn more!

“My child has never been around horses and they might be afraid. Can your program still work for us?”

Absolutely.

We never rush the introduction. Sometimes the first step is playing interactive games in the barn while the horses stay in their stalls. Other times, it might be filling a feed bowl and offering it to a horse when the child feels ready.

There’s no pressure to ride or even touch a horse right away. We meet each child where they are and let trust grow at their pace.

You may have seen our ranch friends with their coats of many colors, but have you wondered why it helps with therapy?

♞ Some children are nonverbal and painting is a way for them to express themselves so that words aren't needed.

♞ The sensory experience of the paint gliding over the texture of the horse's coat can help ground and calm a child's nervous system.

♞ Children can experience and practice mindfulness as they paint, as it takes a calm spirit to help the horse feel safe and comfortable.

Volunteer of the month….. 🥁🐴 Kami!

Kami got involved this spring and has been to the barn at least once a week ever since. We appreciate her help with stalls, feeding, lessons, and events. She also became a Special Olympics coach and will be traveling with us to compete this fall. Kami enjoys being in the pasture loving on all the horses and giving treats, riding, coming to the Bible studies, and going on trail rides.

Outside of lessons, she is in high school, working towards her license, works at Burger King, and also does a couple sports. She has dreams to buy a car, a horse, and go to college!

Kami, we are so blessed to have you be part of our freedom fam. We are better because of you! Your passion, care, and dedication are obvious. Thank you!
