I support the new K8 school being built in DeBary because it will provide local families, including mine, with greater access to quality education and a stronger sense of community. Thank you, School Board, for expediting this and brining this school to our community. I am currently attending Stetson University College of Law, and I plan to raise my family in DeBary. It's important to me to live in a community where my children can grow up in a supportive environment and attend schools that will help them thrive. As a parent of school-aged children, I know firsthand how important it is to have access to quality education close to home. Building a school in the City of DeBary would not only benefit our families by reducing travel time and creating stability, but it would also strengthen our community as a whole—attracting new families, fostering local pride, and investing in the future of our children right here where we live. I appreciate the School Board in bringing this to the DeBary community. As a parent of school-aged children, I strongly support building a school in the City of DeBary. Having a local K8 school will provide families with convenient access to quality education, strengthen our sense of community, and create lasting benefits for future generations. It’s an investment in our city’s future and a meaningful step toward making DeBary an even better place to live and raise a family. Thank you School Board for making this happen for our children. My husband and I are raising [ # of children] children here in DeBary and having the confidence that a neighborhood K8 school will be built would make a meaningful impact on our community. It would give families like ours a stronger sense of connection, stability, and pride in where we live. Thank you School Board & Chairwoman Haynes for bringing this to DeBary. I fully support the School Board’s decision to purchase this land and build a K-8 school for the City of DeBary. Acquiring this land is essential for both the city and the community. It’s important that our children have the opportunity to attend school right here in DeBary, rather than being bused out to other areas like they are currently. Having a local school will strengthen our community and better serve our families. The City of DeBary is continuing to grow, with more homes being built. However, we need a local school for our children to attend—one that’s right here in our community. This K8 is close enough for kids to walk or ride their bikes to, and convenient for parents to drop them off by car or even golf cart. Having our own school in DeBary is important so our children can learn and grow in the community where they live. Thank you School Board for bringing this to DeBary.I grew up in DeBary and had to be bused out of the area for school – I don’t want that experience for my children. I want them to have a school close to home that they can be proud of. This proposed K-8 school is incredibly beneficial for our community and has been a long time coming. With the current opportunity to purchase land, the time to act is now. Where else in DeBary is there enough space for a school like this? I fully support the School Board moving forward with this land purchase – for our community and, most importantly, for our children. A beautiful school like this in DeBary isn’t just a want; it’s a real need that must be addressed now.As a parent of children aged [fill in the blank], I believe having a school right here in our DeBary community would make a meaningful difference for our families. I respectfully urge the School Board to purchase this property and move forward with building a school in DeBary. Thank you for your time and consideration. Good evening, School Board members. My name is [Your Name], and I'm a small business owner here in DeBary. I want to voice my support for the acquisition of land for the new K-8 school at Spring Vista. Beyond the clear educational advantages for our children, this project represents a significant investment in the economic vitality of our community. A local school will attract more families to DeBary, supporting local businesses and increasing our overall quality of life. This isn't just about building a school; it's about building a stronger, more prosperous DeBary for everyone. Members of the School Board, my name is [Your Name], and I've been a resident of DeBary for [Number] years. When we talk about this new K-8 school, we're not just addressing a current need; we're laying the foundation for the future of DeBary. This school will be a cornerstone of our community for decades to come, shaping the lives and opportunities of countless future generations. Acquiring this land is a crucial step in ensuring that DeBary remains a desirable place to raise a family and that our children have the best possible start in life, right here at home. Good evening, my name is [Your Name], and as a concerned community member, I urge the School Board to approve the purchase of land for the K-8 school in DeBary. Many of us are aware of the growing pressures on Debary Elementary, with the rapid increase of new homes in our community in recent years. This new school offers a tangible solution to alleviate overcrowding and provide a more focused and accessible learning environment for our children. By acting now, you are directly addressing a critical public need and demonstrating a commitment to the well-being and educational success of DeBary's students. School Board members, my name is [Your Name]. I believe the proposed K-8 school in DeBary represents more than just classrooms and textbooks. It has the potential to become a true hub for our community. Near to the Springview and Rivington neighborhoods, the location of this school will be a focal point of the city. Imagine a place where families connect, where after-school programs thrive, and where community events can find a central location. This school will foster a stronger sense of belonging and provide valuable resources and opportunities for residents of all ages. Investing in this land is investing in the social fabric of DeBary and creating a vibrant center for our community to grow together.

I want to make an appeal to all parents, who have elementary and middle school children, to please write one letter, that includes every school board member, expressing your support of a new school. This is the last opportunity we have to get another school built in our city. The letter simply has to state that you live in Debary and you support the construction of a new school in our city.
Thank you!

*****DeBary K-8 School*****
Posted live today, the school board has been granted permission by the Florida Dept of Education to purchase the Spring Vista site despite the City of Debary's disapproval! This is the ONLY land left the school can go, or else it will go to another city and our kids will be bussed out. This is our LAST chance to get a school here in DeBary. READ: Next Tuesday, April 22nd all 5 school board members will be voting on whether this is happening or NOT! They need at least 3 to be on board to pass! PLEASE, we need everyone to send an email ASAP to ALL 5 board members pouring your heart out as to why you personally want this school here! DO NOT send sperate emails - all board members need to be included in ONE email! I will post their emails in the comment section so you can copy & paste. We also need at least 2-3 Debary residents to attend the meeting on April 22nd in DeLand - stand before the board and address why we need this school! THIS IS IT - this is our last opportunity! Let's all flood them with emails!!!!! THANK YOU & SHARE!

to talk about our need for a new school!

Springview residents! The city needs YOU to advocate for this school. I’ve come across many communities that have a school blocks away from their home. If I could have one in my backyard I would’ve signed up yesterday! Please let our City Council hear you and support this location.
