APAC is an organization here at Stetson that promotes diversity and equality.

APAC seeks to educate the Stetson Community and increase awareness of the Asian Continent and Pacific Islands by embracing the respective cultures and promoting social justice.

LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL ’23 RECAP (1/2)

We just wanted to thank everyone for attending our annual Lunar New Year Event! We together we watched the Wah Lum Temple Lion Dancers & Martial Artists perform their iconic Lion Dance, Kung Fu, and Tai Chi. Capturing our time together via the polaroid Photo Booth 🎞️ and participated in activities such as playing a Viet Board game and a create-your-own year of the rabbit masks! 🐰 Here are just some highlights (more to come)!!

We would also love to thank our volunteers for helping us run this event. We would not have been able to do it without you! 😽❤️

Please read the above for our full statement regarding the recent shootings in California over the past week.

Dear Stetson Community,

Over the past week, 18 people lost their lives in two different mass shootings in California. One on Saturday, January 21st in Monterey Park, and another on January 23rd in Half Moon Bay. These incidents have deeply impacted the APIDA community for a variety of reasons. The Monterey Park shooting occurred during the annual celebration of Lunar New Year which is a celebration that is widely celebrated within the APIDA community. It is a day in which individuals gather with family members, loved ones, and others to appreciate having them during the prior year and be grateful to spend the next year with them again. The victims of the Half Moon Bay shooting were farmworkers who were of Asian and Hispanic descent and were migrants trying to forge better lives for themselves and their families and loved ones. We would like to give remembrance to these eighteen victims...
