District 428 is closed today in observance of Memorial Day. Thank you to all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms.

Whether they are off to college, trade school, military careers, or the workforce, these students have worked hard to become the young adults that they are today. They leave today ready to face the challenges and experiences that lie ahead.

Today, the Early Learning Development Center celebrates at Lions Park to mark the end of another great school year and to see some preschool graduates off to Kindergarten.

End-of-year celebrations are underway! 🎓🎉

We stopped by Cortland Elementary School for Field Day, where students celebrated with fun, games, and even handstands! Some DeKalb High School grads also stopped by to revisit the place where their D428 educational journeys began!

We look forward to sharing more celebrations as the last week of school wraps up.

We're excited to welcome Badminton players from across the state to DeKalb! A rainy weekend makes for even better Badminton watching. We hope to see you there!

We wanted to make you aware of an upcoming event taking place at DeKalb High School this week. On Friday, May 15th, we will be hosting the IHSA State Badminton Tournament and as a result, the WEST SIDE of the parking lot will be closed so that fans/attendees may use that area.

We ask that all students park on the EAST SIDE of the parking lot, which is the half of the lot on the side closest to the church.

The District was honored last week to recognize our 2026 retirees (who have more than 500 years of combined service!), employee service award recipients, the 2026 Wirtz Ward winner, and ISBE's Award for Meritorious Service winners!
