To end the first week of classes back, SIPLA will be having its welcome/interest meeting behind Swen Parson Hall. Come by if you’re interested or just want to meet your other classmates. Refreshments will be provided!

On Thursday April 7th at 6 PM, join SIPLA and BLS reps, as well as former attorney and local business owner Jamie Walter, in a discussion about the entrepreneurial possibilities a JD can give you. Mr. Walter is the founder and CEO of Whiskey Acres in Dekalb and looks forward to discussing with those in attendance how the skills and experience attained from a legal education and career can transcend to a successful career as a business owner and entrepreneur.

The venue will be Whiskey Acres Distilling Co., 11504 Keslinger Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115. Attendance is limited to the first 40 individuals to sign up. Those who wish to attend can sign up by emailing Kyle Gerstner ([email protected]) or Colton Diaz ([email protected]). Follow up emails will be sent to those who sign up and announcements will be made when and if 40 people have signed up.

Alcoholic beverages will be available for individual purchase, no drinks from outside the establishment are permitted, and tours of the distillery will be available.
