This is why local elections are so important! DPD wants another almost 1/2 a million to expand police surveillance technologies in Dayton at a time when housing and food insecurities are rising along with sky rocketing inflation--at a time when SNAP and Medicaid are on the chopping block--when our children's transportation to school is having to be crowdsourced--when our local shelters are closing their doors to those in need citing capacity. We need our city leaders to get their priorities straight and stop writing blank checks to the police while their residents starve. You may have heard that the statehouse cut funding to buses and now DPS students are reliant on RTA to get to school leaving them to fend for themselves which has already had devastating consequences (https://www.wdtn.com/news/local-news/dayton-residents-students-call-for-action-after-shooting-death-of-dps-student/).

The least we can do is help students access bus passes! Any little bit helps and all funds will be used to purchase passes distributed directly to students in need.
