This week was full of celebrations from our littlest eagles to our biggest — and everyone in between. 🤩🦅

Congratulations to our newest DLA alumni as they step away from the nest and soar into bigger things. We are so proud of each and every one of you and cannot wait to see all that you accomplish next. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! ♥️💛

We’ve had so much fun celebrating this last week of school! From our recent 8th grade graduates spending the day at Kings Island to our students who met their goals on the Ohio State Tests enjoying their incentive trip to Kettering SkateWorld, it has been wonderful watching our Eagles celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments this year.

Today, we dedicated a tree in front of our school in memory of our beloved kindergarten student, Legaci Taylor, who tragically lost her life earlier this year.

Members of the DLA team, the Wright State University kindergarten class, and members of Legaci’s family joined us as we unveiled a commemorative plaque and officially dedicated the tree in her honor.

Legaci brought joy and light to our school community, and she will always hold a special place in our hearts. This tree will serve as a lasting tribute—a peaceful place where we can honor her memory and remember the impact she had on all of us for years to come. 💕🦅

**8th grade KINGS ISLAND Trip Update**

Due to the weather forecast on Friday, we will be rescheduling the Kings Island trip to Wednesday, May 27th. The hours will still be the same - 9:00-6:00 pm. Students will leave Kings Island at 6 and return to DLA by 7:00 pm.

8th graders should attend school on Friday, May 22nd as it is a normal school day.

Please let Ms. Walls or Mrs. Kreischer know if your child cannot attend this new date and to get a refund.

Our 4th grade Eagle Leaders had an amazing day exploring downtown Dayton! 🎭☀️

Students had the opportunity to visit The Human Race Theatre Company, where they toured the theater, visited the sets, explored costumes, and learned more about what goes on behind the scenes of a live performance. Thank you to The Human Race Theatre Company for welcoming our students with open arms and providing such a memorable experience!

After the tour, students walked to RiverScape MetroPark to enjoy lunch and take in the beautiful weather while exploring the river and park.

It was the perfect field trip day for our Eagles! 🦅💙❤️

This Saturday at 1:00 PM, the spirit and excitement will be soaring in the DLA Gym as we host our First Annual Cheerleading Competition!

We are thrilled to welcome cheer teams from across the area for an afternoon filled with:

🎉 A celebration of our talented and dedicated cheerleaders

Thanks for coming Dayton Christian Center! Your students are more than ready for kindergarten!

Our 7th graders turned the library into a bustling marketplace last week as they launched their very own food truck businesses! 🌮🚚🍔

Working in teams, students developed a unique food truck concept, created a budget, and designed a complete business plan. After weeks of collaboration and creativity, they were ready to open for business and “sell” their products.

This engaging project combined entrepreneurship, math, and teamwork while giving students a hands-on opportunity to apply real-world skills. We are so proud of the innovation, problem-solving, and leadership our students demonstrated throughout the process!
