Fleabane: The Scraggly Wildflower with a Medicinal Side
Most folks walk right past fleabane without giving it a second glance. Truth is, this little wildflower has a long history in folk medicine.
Traditionally, fleabane has been used to help calm seasonal allergies, dry up excess mucus, and support the body when sinus pressure and congestion have you feeling stopped up and worn down. Some folks have also turned to it for achy inflammation and digestive upset when things feel sluggish.
You’ll usually spot fleabane growing along roadsides, fields, and disturbed ground. It looks a bit like a wild daisy that got struck by lightning with skinny, thread like petals surrounding a yellow center. The flowers are much smaller and more scraggly looking than oxeye daisy.
Sometimes the plants folks call w**ds are the very ones trying to lend a hand.
Have you ever used herbs for sinus pressure or congestion?
