Environmental Justice for Underrepresented Communities For Winter Quarter '18 we will be meeting on the even Wednesdays at the Student Community Center from 6-7 pm. Stay tune for the exact location!

Environmental Justice for Underrepresented Communities (EJUC) is a student organization at UC Davis that is dedicated to bringing awareness to environmental injustices within marginalized communities. We will promote advocacy and take action to address these issues through student organizing, promoting environmental justice within environmental science education, and creating spaces to voice environmental injustices faced by underrepresented and marginalized folx.

This is part 1 of the webinar series the U.S EPA is doing to address the water issues affecting disadvantaged rural communities. The purpose of this is to support EJ practitioners in building their capacity at the state level.

This one will be specific to California but the following webinars will look at program models other states have taken on.

Knights Landing One Health Center: Medical Clinic is having an informational later today!

They are a student run clinic in Knights Landing, a small rural underserved community about 40 min North of Davis and will be accepting applications soon. This clinic is not only for Pre-Med or Pre-Health students. Being a “one health” clinic they find ways to intersect humans, animals and the environment.

They offer a lot more then free health care and are working on other projects like:
-Vet clinic
-Building a community garden
-Youth enrichment program
-Environmental research opportunities
-and more
