We received an email from Professor Bradford Jones who requested the following:

“There is an urgent need for hats for migrants and asylum seekers in the Arizona desert. If you have a lightly used hat that will provide sun shade or are willing to purchase a new hat that would provide UV protection, we need your help. Migrants and asylum seekers are amassing in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument south of Ajo, AZ and many are crossing without protective sun shade. They are in desperate conditions and we need to get hats sent to the border ASAP. If you can contribute, I will be setting up a receptacle at my house and will mail them to Ajo, Arizona where they will be taken to the border. The hats need to be sun protective and darker colors are preferred if possible. But anything that will protect them is fine. We are in the hottest months in Arizona and exposure is the leading cause of death. Please help if you can.”

If you are an Undergraduate at UC Davis, SPEAK invites you and your family to join us for Family Day. Family Day is the culminating event of our annual Undocumented Awareness and Empowerment Week, also known as "S.P.E.A.K. Week." 😍

SPEAK will provide housing, gas reimbursement and food for families on the day of the event. Reimbursement and housing will be on a first come first serve basis !! So make sure to RSVP asap. THE FORM WILL CLOSE FRIDAY APRIL 14 at 6PM!! Don’t forget ! ‼️

Service internships include a $7,000 stipend (paid $700 monthly) and a $3,000 Education Award upon completion of the 450 hours of service 😱✨ (approximately 15 hours a week) while helping address our state’s most pressing needs‼️Opportunities focus on education📚, climate action 🐻‍❄️ and food insecurity 🥕 with K-12 schools, community-based and government organizations.
