Arizona State University Smart Region Summit was such a great event. We were fortunate to have been a part of it, discussing Safety & Security with Manish Hirapara from PeakActivity and Lev Gonick from ASU. All of the presentations were inspiring, and we are looking forward to returning to Phoenix.

Honored to partner with Stand With Parkland- The National Association of Families for Safe Schools to deploy safety technology in our communities. Through a grant provided by Stand with Parkland, municipalities can deploy CERA in their Public Safety agencies and education facilities. Much appreciation to Anthony Montalto and Tom Hoyer from Stand with Parkland for their tireless effort to keep our schools safe.
Thank you, Chief Luis Cabrera from Biscayne Park, as our host and the first municipality to deploy CERA in Miami-Dade. Additional thanks to North Miami Chief Cherise G. Gause and Asst. Chief Angel Rivera, Chief Alex Mendez of El Portal Police Dept, Pembroke Park Chief Ra Shana A. Dabney-Donovan, and Davie Chief Steve Kinsey as the initial municipalities deploying CERA through the grant.

Getting in the feels this weekend after rewatching a documentary on the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas attack, my yearly ritual to force focus. Though our separate journeys converged through the Parkland tragedy, I've been blessed to now call them my friends. Each have taught me so much about strength and resilience, they are the reason I have stayed on this relentless mission to help do our part to save lives. They are truly inspiring.
Tony Montalto, Ivy Schamis and Danielle Gilbert, thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives and showing me what true courage is.

There is a bit of guilt being a retired cop. Whether reading about cops fighting a battle with evil, or driving by an officer working a scene, we feel like we should be there. We should be their backup, their 10-94, shoulder-to-shoulder.
We especially feel this twinge of guilt on holidays, knowing our brothers and sisters in blue are on the street, sacrificing their time, their family and their safety to protect our communities. That feeling is like I've let them down. Even though passing the torch is inevitable, if your a cop's cop you never fully walk away, That bond is too strong. I feel it, and I know our team feels it.
If you get an opportunity to tell a police officer you appreciate them, please do it. This calling to protect and serve takes a heavy personal toll. There is no shortage of criticism for police, but they could use a little praise.
To all of the current LEOs, especially the rank and file pulling these tough shifts away from family, thank you so much for your service. You are much appreciated. -Team CERA
