The track from the lower level staging to the exit of the helix by the window is installed. The tall Walthers track boxes represent where more oil derricks will go. The tank car is sitting in front of where an oil depot will go. The long cardboard box represents the Atwood passenger depot. The flat car and halftrack are sitting on a passing siding that leads to the oil depot siding.

The latest update on construction of the Santa Fe Olive District Layout. The main bus wires for the upper and lower level have been installed as well as a new pullout workbench located under the staging area. The 1” pink foam is also completely installed too. I’ve also started working out how many tracks I can fit in the lower staging area on the peninsula. Looks like thirteen will be the maximum, although I may scale it back to twelve just to have a little more room between tracks.

Lots of progress over the last few weeks. I’ve finished both levels of bench work around the walls including the upper and lower lift out sections. I’ve added the LED lights under the upper deck to illuminate the lower level. I built my first of probably five oil derricks, and now I’m working on my peninsula for the upper section of Olive and my lower staging area.

I think I found the right LED lights to install under the upper deck to properly light up the lower deck of my Santa Fe Olive District Layout. The second picture is with the room ceiling lights turned off.

Beginning to expand further around the walls for the lower level.
