Great things are happening at Killingly High School! 🔍 Career Exploration in Action!
The Killingly High School Career Center is offering Ms. Jones’ Business Law class an eye-opening job shadow experience at the Brooklyn Correctional Institution.
Last week, the first group of students toured the facility and met with a variety of professionals — including the warden, deputy warden, corrections officers, counselors, social workers, and teachers. They also had the unique opportunity to hear directly from inmates, who shared their stories and offered advice on making positive choices to avoid similar paths. The next group of students will visit next week for the same incredible experience.
These visits give students valuable insight into the many career paths in corrections and the impact each role has on rehabilitation and community safety.
