I think my favorite thing about "Dog Training" is helping people make the shift to developing a relationship with your dog based on connection and intention ❤️ Once that mental shift is made in the pet parent, "the work" isn't working at all, it is collaboration. 🤌

We are having a rough time financing our non-profit with non-existent donations alongside large veterinarian bills. 2 animals, 3 veterinarian bills and just a few weeks we are negative almost $1,400.00.

I am really proud of myself for paying for my own non-profit out of my own personal money but I always know it shouldn't have to be that way. There are non-profits that get a salary for doing the right thing and get so much money in funding. All I am asking is fo people to see what we commit to and the quality care our Sanctuary animals get.

No one tells you how to do this.

When you live a life that is saturated in animals needs before anything else and at the expense of your finances, time from your children, and an emotional roller coaster that will literally break your freaking heart....you just try to survive it.

Not many people want to talk about the mental health of the person behind the rescue or Sanctuary (unless of course they are hurting the animals- that's another post). But I mean the toll it takes to know your job on earth is to save at the very same time you simply cannot save the ones you have let into your heart and home.

To heal.

To help.

To give.

To be there regardless.

To have endless empathy.

To comfort.

To make safe, in every sense of the word.

To face the reality that your efforts aren't enough.

To come to terms with letting go when every fiber of your being is to fight for them.

Its an inner battle that I have not been able to master in 20 years of rescue.

It never gets any easier.

It never brings me peace.

But that's the thing with rescue- its never about you.

You're left with all these what ifs, emotions, confusion and heartbreak but you are in service of the animal.

So it is always about what brings them peace. The right thing to do for each little life.

After 2 trips to Urgent Care, Smokey will enter kitty ICU as there is not clear diagnosis and Euthanasia is definitely on the table, but not until his team of veterinarians can determine if the cause of the fluid in his lungs is treatable or if the cause is terminal.

We are supporting Smokey with Oxygen chamber, fluids, antibiotics, steroid, diuretics, special food and a whole lot of TLC.

Smokey, I love you. 💙 We are committed to making informed decisions about such a final choice for your life. Hang in there buddy.

He was running around an acre in the country. Hiding, peeking out, trying to survive and after about a month of regular feedings and me hanging out on the ground outside talking to a wild cat 🫣, he was trapped and brought inside in quarantine.

Spoiling him aka socialing him has been a dream.

He is the sweetest 💗 💕

Smokey went from Happy and Healthy to super sick. The veterinarian ruled out blockage and ended up doing X-rays due to his symptoms. Poor guy has either Pneumonia or Asthma or both. We left with oral antibiotics and a steroid. He spent time in the Oxygen chamber and received sub-q fluids. We recheck and have second X-Rays done in 3 weeks.

We will get Smokey all set up in a cat condos to monitor food, water intake, energy level, bowels and give meds to in a quiet relaxing space per Dr's orders but we sure could use donation for this $565.00 veterinarian bill 🙏

We barely make it and it breaks my heart to know all our work for these animals doesn't reach enough people to help fund our non-profit. But I will keep doing my best to keep us afloat.
