One of the biggest reasons I LOVE homeschooling these girls is the freedom and flexibility it gives our family. 🥹📚💗
Did we take a pretty big unexpected break when Mom landed herself in the hospital? 😂 Yep. We sure did. Life came to a screeching halt for a minute, and school did too.
And THAT is the beauty of homeschooling.
We were able to put the books down, focus on our family, let Mom survive the absolute dumpster fire that was August 😅, and pick right back up when we were ready.
Now we're back at it, slowly finding our routine again. I'm still healing, I'm definitely not running at 100%, and some days look more organized than others… but we're learning. We're growing. We're figuring it out together. ❤️
And yesterday was the PERFECT example of why this works so well for us.
A neighbor needed some last-minute help with one of the sports leagues we help with. Instead of having to choose between helping her and doing school, we packed up the girls' books and tablets, headed to her house, and they did school while I helped sort out jerseys. 😂📚🏈
No classroom required. No perfect schedule required. No falling "behind" because real life happened.
Because I'm realizing more and more that real life IS part of their education.
They're watching their mom help a neighbor. They're learning flexibility, responsibility, service, time management, and how to roll with the chaos—which, let's be real, might be one of the most valuable Gibson Academy electives. 😂
Homeschooling isn't always pretty. Some days we're at our school table. Some days we're on the couch. Apparently some days we're doing math next to piles of sports jerseys. 🤷🏽♀️🤣
But they're learning, we're together, and we're building a rhythm that works for our family.
And that right there is why I love this so dang much. 🥹❤️📚
Gibson Academy is officially back in session.
Healing momma and all. 💪🏼✨
