Leaves don’t really “turn” yellow…the yellow was there all along! 🍂 As green chlorophyll (used for photosynthesis) breaks down in fall as the tree goes dormant, the yellow pigments hiding underneath are finally revealed. Welcome to Talk About Trees, Michele! 🌲

We’re excited to introduce Michele Pavilionis, our new facilitator serving Douglas and Josephine Counties!

Michele brings an extensive background in outdoor and nature education. She has taught college-level outdoor adventure leadership courses and spent many years leading nature programs for K–8 students. She also has a special interest and expertise in Indigenous studies.

We’re excited to have Michele sharing her love of outdoor learning with students in Southern Oregon!

Meet Bernie Miezal, one of our newest Talk About Trees facilitators serving the Klamath and Lake County area!

Bernie brings experience as a firefighter and is already familiar with Talk About Trees through his previous volunteer work with the program.

We’re excited to have Bernie officially joining the facilitator team and helping us bring forest education to more students in Southern Oregon!
