Do you know how you learn best…visually, aurally, or kinesthetically? Will, a fifth grader at St. Mark’s, just learned how he learns best!

Sunday afternoons are a great time for tutoring! Just met and got to do some writing enrichment with Franklin, a bright ninth grade student at St. Mark’s School of Texas.

Hot off Laureate Life Press—Seventeen-year-old Jackson Barnes’ sci-fi thriller! We have worked together for two years as he has written and edited this fascinating story of Alora, a young girl who learns so much while facing fantastical creatures in another world. I am immensely proud of Jackson. Clearly, this is the first of many books that he will write. Get your copy on Amazon today!

I can’t say enough to express the fabulousness of Jackson. Not only have we been working on his college essays as he applies to engineering programs throughout the country, but we are also in the final edits of his fantastical thriller, A TRAIN AWAY, which will soon be published by Laureate Life Press! He is truly the kindest gentleman and also a creative scholar.

From journal writing and book reading in the fifth grade, to career assessments and college essay writing during the summer before her senior year, it has been so gratifying to work with Estelle!

I’ve had the great pleasure of working with Mary since she was in the 8th grade at Hockaday. Now she is a rising senior looking to apply early to UVA. If ever there was a young woman of great depth and integrity, it is Mary. Wherever she lands next year it will be a blessed place indeed.

What fun to get to read and discuss Will’s summer reading with him today! With school about to begin, I’ve been busy helping kids with their college essays, books they are writing (!), and summer reading assignments. Some may call me crazy, but 46 years later, I still derive so much joy from working with teenagers. 😊🙏🏽

What a great morning! Alex, a fine rising St. Mark’s senior, took a break from college essay work as we went over his Myers-Briggs and Strong assessments. It was a perfect time to talk about what careers may be a good fit for him in the future.
