CPE Provider Certification
Great news!
With the generous help and support of our State Senator, Royce West, and Trenton Law, Director of Educator Credentialing at TEA, we are proud to announce that Educate Tejas is fully certified as a CPE provider for the State of Texas.
Our CPE provider number is 910000, and we can provide all necessary paperwork for educators and administrators who complete our professional development courses.
We look forward to bringing these services to teachers and staff across the state for years to come.

"The CPE Provider Application is currently unavailable as the agency reviews processes and makes updates to the application. This process could take a few months and we appreciate your patience. The updated application form will be posted here following completion of updates." - TEA Website, October 9 (not updated since at least May).

Update on the Texas Education Agency's failure to provide a path to certification for new CPE Providers!
The TEA has updated its website to include these statements:
"Special Note: We are currently updating our list of approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) providers and will be releasing the revised list in a new, streamlined format here in the coming weeks, replacing the link above."
"The CPE Provider Application is currently unavailable as the agency reviews processes and makes updates to the application. This process could take a few months and we appreciate your patience. The updated application form will be posted here following completion of updates."
The second paragraph, promising updates in "a few months," has been posted for at least 16 months.
The new "Special Note" promising an updated list "in the coming weeks" is now nearly two months old.
The current educational administration in Texas is not responding to the needs of its providers, educators, and students.

CPE Provider Certification Update
More than 30 days after we attempted to submit our CPE provider application to the Texas Education Agency, we finally received a response—an automated email. The message directed us to a TEA webpage that has carried the same notice for at least 6 months, possibly closer to a year:
“The CPE Provider Application is currently unavailable as the agency reviews processes and makes updates to the application. This process could take a few months and we appreciate your patience. The updated application form will be posted here following completion of updates.” – Texas Education Agency
When we replied to ask for clarification, we received another automated response—this time pointing us to a defunct page.
At present, we have a help desk ticket, again generated by automation. No timeframe for resolution has been offered. No phone number, no contact person, no possibility of a physical appointment with anyone at TEA who might still oversee this process.
We remain committed to transparency as we navigate this limbo. Thank you for your continued patience and support while we advocate for a fair and functional pathway for CPE providers in Texas.

CPE Update:
The State of Texas has suspended approval of new CPE providers and has no announced plans to resolve the issue.
This is why Educate Tejas is currently focusing on direct-instruction workshops for students. We would be thrilled to announce a date for providing our entire field of CPE workshops for Texas teachers; however, no current timeframe is available.
We have also written to the State Board of Education and the TEA, voicing our opinion that requiring CPE Providers to be certified, and offering no legal pathway to certification, is unfair prior restraint on our business and is both anti-competitive and undemocratic.
We'll be sure to provide you with more updates as we continue to advocate on this issue.
Thank you!

Teach your students to teach each other, and learning outcomes improve. Educate Tejas can equip teachers with the skills to facilitate peer teaching across various content levels.
"As well as improving student performance and retention, the addition of interactive workshops also improved the quality of student learning: Student scores on exam questions that required higher-level thinking increased from preworkshop to workshop semesters."
