Founding Week.

As we approach our 1-year , we’re setting aside the week of April 20th to gather, reflect, and share what we’re building.

What started as an idea has become a growing community—grounded in fellowship, learning, and a commitment to the common good.

Who shapes the Black mind?
We found that answer last night—through history, through dialogue, and through each other.

Thank you for guiding us, and to everyone who showed up ready to engage deeply. Shoutout to our awesome moderator for leading the conversation.

She started a school with $1.50, and most people have no idea what it became. 🔥

Mary McLeod Bethune was born to formerly enslaved parents, one of 17 children, and the only one who got to go to school. Instead of keeping that gift to herself, she gave it to every Black girl she could reach.

With a dollar fifty, some crates for desks, and pure belief she built something that is still standing today.

This is one of the most powerful stories in Black American history, and it deserves to be told.

Bethune didn’t just build a school. She built the National Council of Negro Women. She walked into the White House and advised a president. A daughter of enslaved people — shaping the policies of a nation.

She proved that education isn’t just knowledge, it’s power. Generational power. Unstoppable power.

Her legacy lives in every Black woman who was ever told she was too much — and kept going anyway.

He gave up his U.S. citizenship at 93 years old, and most people have no idea why. 🔥

W.E.B. Du Bois was Harvard’s first Black PhD, a co-founder of the NAACP, and one of the most powerful intellectual voices in American history. But the U.S. government surveilled him, stripped his passport, and tried to silence him for decades.
So, at 93, he stopped asking for acceptance and left.
This is one of the most overlooked stories in Black American history, and it deserves to be told.

Du Bois believed that Black people weren’t just meant to work — they were meant to LEAD. To think. To build. To rise. His philosophy of the Talented Tenth challenged every system that tried to keep Black Americans small.
His legacy lives in every Black doctor, lawyer, professor, and leader walking the earth today.
