October is Clergy Appreciation Month, a time to honor those who preach the Word, shepherd congregations, and serve their communities. Focus on the Family began promoting this observance in 1994, encouraging churches to recognize pastors and their families throughout October. Its biblical foundation reaches much further back: Paul urged believers to esteem those who labor among them in love because of their work (1 Thessalonians 5:12–13). (focusonthefamily.ca)
At Dallas Bible Theological Institute, we recognize that much of a pastor’s most meaningful work happens beyond the pulpit. It happens beside hospital beds, through difficult conversations, in hours of study, and in prayers for people who may never know their names were called.
To the local pastor and preacher: the size of your congregation does not determine the significance of your calling. Every person you disciple, every grieving family you comfort, and every sermon you faithfully prepare matters.
Keep growing. Make room for rest. Receive care as willingly as you give it. You are a person God loves, even when you are away from the pulpit.
“How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15, KJV.
We see your service. We honor your faithfulness. We thank God for you.
