Dear PTAA Mesquite Oates Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to prepare for another successful school year at PTAA Mesquite Oates MS/HS!

Attached you will find the official 2026–2027 School Supply List for all grade levels. Please review the supply list carefully and ensure your student has the required materials before the first day of school. Having the proper supplies will help students begin the school year organized, prepared, and ready for success.

🚨 Important Reminder:
ONLY clear backpacks will be allowed on campus for the 2026–2027 school year.

The supply list includes:
• 5th–7th grade general supplies
• 8th–12th grade grade-level and subject-specific supplies
• ELAR, Math, Science, and Fine Arts requirements
• Student fees and payment information

Please note that some supplies are required to be turned in to your child’s 2nd period teacher. Cash payments for fees must be submitted to the front office. We appreciate your continued partnership and support as we prepare for an amazing school year filled with growth, learning, and opportunity for all students.

We are excited to provide you all with the Parent and Student Orientation schedule for the 2026–2027 school year at PTAA Mesquite Oates MS/HS! We invite all students and families to attend our upcoming Parent & Student Orientation sessions to receive important information regarding academics, programs, expectations, campus procedures, and student opportunities for the new school year.

Orientation Schedule

• August 3 – 5th & 6th Grade Orientation
• August 4 – 7th & 8th Grade Orientation
• August 5 – 9th & 10th Grade Orientation
• August 6 – 11th & 12th Grade Orientation

During orientation, families will have the opportunity to:

Meet campus administrators and staff
Learn about academic expectations and graduation pathways
Receive information about schedules, attendance, and student procedures
Explore extracurricular activities, clubs, athletics, and programs
Ask questions and prepare for a successful school year
We strongly encourage all parents and students to attend their designated orientation date to ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year.

Good morning Parents and Students,

This week is the last week of school for our students. Starting tomorrow, students will have free dress week.

Students are NOT allowed to wear hoodies, jeans with rips or tears, leggings, crop tops, no slippers or any clothing with inappropriate sayings.

We will continue to follow the cell phone policy. Students should NOT bring any backpacks.

Field Day- May 19th

Last Day of School- May 20th (Half Day-12:00pm release, no lunch will be served)

Join us for an unforgettable evening as our talented Dance and Music department presents 'A Journey Through the Stars' on Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00pm. Doors open at 6:45pm in the Gym. We can't wait to share this exciting experience with you!

Yesterday marked a pivotal moment for our juniors as they celebrated their achievements at the awards ceremony, showcasing the incredible bond and unity within this exceptional group of students. Their tireless efforts paid off with nearly the entire class earning a spot on the A Honor Roll, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments and dedication.

We had another incredibly uplifting awards ceremony yesterday. Our 9th and 10th grade students were ecstatic and we were thrilled to recognize and celebrate this remarkable group of students.

Tonight we are beaming with pride for these remarkable young men and women who have achieved the extraordinary feat of earning their Associate's Degree and/or EMT certification prior to receiving their high school diploma. Thirteen of them have successfully obtained their EMT Certifications. Fourteen of them have earned their Associate's Degrees. Their unwavering dedication and perseverance have been truly inspiring. We are deeply proud of their remarkable accomplishments and the unrelenting passion they have demonstrated in pursuing their dreams. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Gassaway for his tireless efforts in promoting the CCMR program on our campus.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

We are excited to announce that a food truck will be on campus during Field Day on Tuesday, May 19th for students to enjoy during the festivities!

Field Day is a time for students to celebrate the end of the school year with fun activities, games, and school spirit, and we are excited to add an extra treat for our students.

Please review the following reminders:

Students may bring money to purchase items from the food truck.
Purchases are optional.
We encourage students to bring small bills and exact change when possible.
Students are expected to continue following all campus expectations and behavior guidelines during the event.
