💙❤️ Happy AVID Day! ❤️💙

We had a great time celebrating AVID Day at Cockrill today! Our students began class by creating their own “Because of AVID, I…” posters and reflecting on the ways AVID has helped them grow. Then, we turned up the energy with AVID Family Feud! Students worked with their teams, tested their AVID knowledge, and had a great time celebrating everything that makes our AVID family so special.

Today we welcomed back our wonderful AVID tutors, Mrs. Kristal, Mrs. Rachel, and Mrs. Uwem! We are so excited to have them back on campus this year! They always make tutorials so much fun for our students!

We also want to recognize our incredible AVID Elite Leadership Team! Our Elites have already been hard at work in our 6th and 7th grade AVID classrooms, helping students stay organized, modeling AVID expectations, and encouraging students along the way.

Our students are so lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people who are invested in their success! We are excited for a great year of tutorials, leadership, and teamwork! 💙

💙🤍 AVID is off to a great start at Cockrill! 🤍💙

We have already had so many wonderful things to celebrate this year!

In August, our AVID students participated in our annual AVID Signing Day, where they officially signed their AVID Agreements and committed to the expectations and responsibilities that come with being an AVID student. They are already putting that commitment into action!

Each week, we recognize students who are doing an outstanding job using their planners to stay organized, keep up with assignments, and plan ahead. Congratulations to our first Planner of the Week standouts! 🗓️⭐

🤠 Howdy, Cockrill AVID Cowboys!

We hope you're having an amazing summer and making lots of great memories! As we start counting down to a new school year, we've included the AVID school supply list below so you'll be ready for an awesome year ahead.

We can't wait to see everyone at Cowboy Roundup and Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 11! It's going to be a great opportunity to reconnect, meet new teachers, and kick off another incredible year of AVID.

Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate our incredible 8th Grade AVID students!

We are so proud of each and every one of them and all they have accomplished during their time in the AVID program at Cockrill. Many of these students began their AVID journey with us in 6th grade, and it has been amazing to watch them grow into confident leaders!

As they prepare for their next chapter, we know they are going to do amazing things in high school and beyond. The future is bright for this special group of students, and we cannot wait to see all they accomplish! 🎉💙
