More than a game — it was a response.
Erica Molett didn’t build Beyond the Ball, Inc. for exposure — she built it out of necessity. As a sports mom and strategist, she saw the gap: talent on the field, but limited access off of it.

So she created what was missing.

A space where young athletes learn how to think, negotiate, build, and lead — not just play. Where sports become the entry point, not the end goal.

Today, that vision has reached 6,000+ youth across 17+ cities and global stages — turning potential into preparation.

Because when sports are done right, they don’t just shape athletes…
they build architects of their own future.

Beyond the Ball, Inc. has impacted 6,000+ youth across 17+ cities, connecting sports to business, tech, and real-world opportunity.

Backed by partners like Nike, Microsoft Xbox, and the NBA Foundation — students aren’t just playing, they’re preparing.

From global stages to top universities, this is what happens when access meets intention.

Some of the most powerful moments from NBA All-Star Weekend didn’t happen on the court.

They happened in rooms where students found their voices.
Where mentors leaned in and shared knowledge.
Where parents watched their children step into confidence and possibility.

This is what Beyond The Ball is about.

Creating spaces where young people are seen, heard, and challenged to think bigger about what’s possible for their future. Connecting them with leaders who show them that the path they’re dreaming about is real and reachable.

The testimonials in this video tell the story better than we ever could.

Students who gained confidence.
Parents who witnessed transformation.
Partners who saw the brilliance of the next generation firsthand.

This kind of impact lasts far beyond a weekend. The seeds planted here will continue to grow for years to come.

We’re honored to be part of the journey.

This moment right here is why we do the work.

All-Star Weekend wasn’t just about the lights, the stage, or the final pitches it was about watching young leaders step into confidence they didn’t even know they had yet.

From the first day to the final presentation, we witnessed growth that can’t be measured by trophies alone. We saw ideas become real, teammates become family, and students discover what leadership looks like when preparation meets opportunity.

Congratulations to our winning team, The Highlighters, for showing what vision, discipline, and collaboration can create when young voices are given the room to be heard.

Our CEO, Erica Molett, opened this journey reminding everyone in the room judges, partners, and supporters that this is bigger than one weekend. This is about exposure, access, and helping students see themselves in spaces they’re meant to lead.

What you’ll see in this video is more than a competition. It’s teamwork in motion, moments of mentorship, the power of the Junior NBA drills, and the energy that happens when young people are challenged to rise together.

A special thank you to our incredible sponsors, judges, and partners Comcast NBCUniversal, the NBA Foundation, The Knowledge House, Hidden Genius Project, Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center, and Marlborough School for investing in this vision and helping us create life-changing opportunities for these students. Your support made this experience possible and meaningful beyond the court.

Because of you, these students walked away with more than memories… they walked away with momentum.

And we’re just getting started.

We want to begin with deep gratitude to our partners at Comcast NBCUniversal and the NBA Foundation for making this journey possible.

Last month, Beyond The Ball had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles 3-weeks ahead of All-Star Weekend for an unforgettable kickoff experience.

As part of our Game Changers Innovation Lab, my team and I hosted an intense sports and innovation kickoff that brought together an incredible group of selected students ready to build, learn, and lead.

Over the following three weeks, these young innovators worked Hackathon-style ,meeting multiple times a week, sharpening their ideas, and preparing to pitch in front of judges, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.

The energy was real. The talent was undeniable. And the future is already in motion.

Special thank you to Hidden Genius for opening your doors and providing the space to bring this experience to life.

Now that All-Star Weekend has officially wrapped, we’ll be sharing so much more from this journey on our timeline all week stay tuned.
