It’s been another busy day for Palmer FFA members at the State Fair of Texas!
Emerson Robinson showed her chickens, both pens making the first call back, judge said he really liked her birds, just needed more uniformity.
Great job, Emerson!!
Shania Rhodes, Emma Spurlock and Sydney Stewart showed their market barrows in tough Berkshire, Dark Cross and White OPB classes and although they didn’t get pulled they sure turned on showmanship right out of the gate and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work, determination and growth!
Congratulations to all the exhibitors that showed at SFT 2022- Ag Mechanics to follow in a couple of weeks!

Palmer FFA and Jr. FFA kids have been busy this past week and weekend!
J. T. Stewart showed his Simbrah heifer at the HOT Fair in Waco and received 3rd in both rings!
The Product ID Teams (1 senior and 1 junior team) traveled to State Fair of Texas and competed in their event and saw some improved scores from last year!
Jenna Rhodes and J.T. Stewart exhibited their duroc barrows at SFT this morning and did an excellent job driving them in front of the judge!
3 more barrows and market broilers to show at SFT this week then it’s a little break before Ag Mechanics projects roll in…

Palmer HS Vet Med Apps, Livestock Production and Small Animal Production classes had SO much fun working with and giving basic groom care to Charlie (Beagle), Stanley (Mini Schnauzer) and Winnie (Bernedoodle) today!
All pups were given a basic exam including heart rate, breathing rate and temperature check as well as having their teeth brushed, nails trimmed and filed and a good bath and blow dry.
Thank you to the McCarty and Barr families (PISD Staff) for allowing us to share your pups for the day!

Palmer FFA BBQ team had a great day yesterday volunteering as a cook team for the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner. Our team worked together with the Ennis BBQ team cooking brisket and pulled pork. Thanks to the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner for supporting the FFA and 4H programs of Ellis County and giving us the chance to practice our cooking for the upcoming competition season.

Our first year welding students have had a very good start in the shop learning how to strike an arc and run beads with the SMAW welding process (stick welding). Students are learning a lot and getting better everyday. Students are showing tremendous work ethic and willingness to learn the welding trade and will have skills necessary to enter the welding industry upon graduation if they choose that path.
