In the past, anytime I bought an alphabet poster or banner from a teaching store, I was disappointed by the graphics that were selected for each phoneme/grapheme. For example, TREE and TRAIN are popular for the letter t. I prefer to use a visual cue that truly isolates the /t/ sound, such as tiger, taco, tent, or top. These are all easily recognizable to primary students, and serve as a better example, in my opinion. I created a set of alphabet posters and sound wall cards, and all of the words and graphics were carefully selected, with the youngest learners in mind. These posters and sound cards are ideal for preschool, Kindergarten, and first grade classrooms, as well as home schools, SLPs, and daycares.
