In their guide to Dallas education, D Magazine highlighted microschools as an innovative private school alternative—and featured Sage School of Dallas for our work supporting "twice-exceptional" (2e) learners. 🧠💡

Twice-exceptional students are intellectually gifted children who also navigate neurodivergent conditions like ADHD, autism, or anxiety. At Sage School, our intimate learning environment and 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio ensure every child’s unique strengths are nurtured while their individual challenges are supported.

We are delighted to welcome Carrie Smith to our faculty for the upcoming school year!

Carrie brings eight years of rich instructional experience across various grade levels in both public and private schools in Dripping Springs and the Dallas area. With a background as both a special education teacher and case manager, Carrie is deeply committed to recognizing, celebrating, and supporting every learner’s unique strengths and individual needs.

Her love for sports and exercise—paired with her background playing collegiate soccer—has deeply shaped her appreciation for teamwork, resilience, and lifelong wellness. Carrie is excited to build an encouraging, inclusive learning environment where all students feel empowered to build confidence, establish healthy habits, and experience success every day.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Paige Villemure to our teaching team for the upcoming school year!

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Paige attended Wayne State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree while competing as a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. Now entering her fifth year of teaching, Paige brings energy, dedication, and a love for education to our community—with math being her absolute favorite subject to teach!

Paige is passionate about supporting the whole child, helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building the self-confidence they need to thrive. At the heart of her educational approach is a commitment to forming strong, meaningful relationships with students, their families, and the broader school community.

Outside the classroom, Paige loves staying active, exploring new local restaurants with friends, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Meet the Sage School 2026–27 Faculty! 📚🏛️

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Valery Piachonkina to our faculty for the upcoming school year!

Ms. Piachonkina earned her Bachelor’s degree in History from Austin College, graduating summa cm laude. A former History Department Head with extensive experience teaching middle and high school humanities, she brings leadership, depth, and a passion for deep learning to our school community.

With a rich background spanning historical research, writing, and journalism, Ms. "P" enriches her classroom by fostering thoughtful inquiry, strong written communication, and evidence-based thinking. She is deeply committed to helping every student build their confidence, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and nurture a lifelong curiosity about the world.

When she isn't inspiring students in the classroom, Ms. Piachonkina enjoys traveling, diving into a good book, swimming, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Meet the Sage School 2026–27 Faculty! 🔬✨

We are excited to welcome David Mueller to our science and mathematics department for the upcoming school year!

David is a physics educator and science communicator dedicated to making complex scientific concepts clear, exciting, and accessible to students. He holds both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from The University of Texas at Dallas. During his graduate studies, his cutting-edge research—supported by the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR)—focused on thermoacoustic sound projection using carbon nanotube sheets.

David brings a wealth of instructional experience to Sage, having taught physics at both the high school and collegiate levels, alongside high school mathematics.

Beyond the classroom, David shares his love for learning as a digital content creator, crafting long-form educational video essays on YouTube. By blending rigorous research with storytelling, cinematography, motion graphics, and graphic design, he finds innovative ways to connect science with culture.

We are thrilled to announce Anna Smith as our Coordinator of Curriculum and Teacher Excellence for the upcoming school year!

In addition to her role as a full-time Middle School Teacher, Anna will act as a vital support and resource for our educators. She will focus on teacher support, curriculum development, and coordinating innovative thinking across classrooms.

Anna brings over a decade of dedicated experience supporting neurodiverse students, driven by a profound passion for unlocking their unique potential. Her approach is deeply rooted in strong family collaboration—working hand-in-hand with parents to help every child thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Compassionate, dedicated, and a true advocate for personalized learning, Anna ensures our students build the essential skills and confidence needed for future academic success and real-world experiences.
