We are excited to share that Project Poëtica’s social presence will now live solely on the SMU English channels! As a proud initiative of the Department of English, Project Poëtica will engage exclusively through the English platforms so our community has one vibrant place to connect and celebrate. As part of this shift, the current Project Poëtica account will no longer be active. Join us on the SMU English channels for all future Project Poëtica updates.

Congratulations to our partners at Deep Vellum for publishing another work in translation in the Central Track Poetry Series! We can’t wait to read the latest from Fiston Mwanza Mujila, The Slaughterhouse of Dreams, translated by J. Bret Maney. Mwanza Mujila’s work draws on a traditional Congolese form of praise poem and blends performance and lyric.

COVER REVEAL!
projectpoetica is thrilled to share the cover of its forthcoming collection AMID THIS by the talented Allan Peterson. At Project Poetica, we pride ourselves on author collaboration. Peterson, who holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, created this stunning tree print himself, and we are so thrilled with the final cover by our brilliant designer, Alicia Beebe. Be on the lookout for your chance to pre-order your copy of AMID THIS, which will be released in spring 2026.
