In this question, we dial in on whether or not it’s possible to change the default base log on your NCEES Approved TI-36x PRO...so with that, let’s get at it.

QUESTION:

“Is it possible to change the default base log on the TI-36x PRO?”

ANSWER:
-
Although it is not initially evident by looking at each of the buttons on the TI-36x PRO, it is indeed possible to change from the default log base 10 to any base that you desire.
-
To do this, simply locate the [ln log] button on the TI-36x PRO, which is directly below the [2nd] key, and PRESS it 3 TIMES.
-
You will see on your screen that you are now able to define the base as anything and move forward in your calculations.

On another note, page 23 of the NCEES Reference Handbook (v9.4) provides LOGARITHM RULES and IDENTITIES that you should be familiar with.
