It’s true, receiving can feel risky because it requires openness, and openness can feel vulnerable when life has taught us that letting go of control doesn’t always end the way we would have liked.
In this episode, we’re talking about receptivity as an energy, why receiving can feel unfamiliar, and how building that capacity requires intention, self-trust, and practice.

My loves! Receiving is a super power!
This week on Seen with Serena Kumara, we’re talking about receiving as a superpower and how receptivity changes what life can bring us.
This episode is about the energy of receiving, the subtle ways blocked receptivity can show up, and why more of us may struggle with opening our channel than we realize.
Because ease requires receptivity.
..and sometimes the work is learning how to actually accept support, opportunity, and abundance.
Receiving Is a Superpower: How Receptivity Changes What Life Can Bring Us is out now wherever you listen to podcasts.
The weekly affirmation for this episode comes from Unapologetic Affirmations.

My loves… Don’t forget to play.
Remember that rest may help us recover, but pleasure helps us feel alive.
This week on Seen with Serena Kumara, we talked about pleasure, play, and the space that gets lost between doing and being.
Season 2, Episode 3: The Pleasure Principle: Why Play Ain’t Optional is out now.

Hey babes, are you enjoying yourself?
Not just balancing work and rest…
But actually enjoying yourself.
This week on Seen with Serena Kumara, we’re talking about pleasure, and the space that sometimes gets lost between doing and being... playing.
Because sometimes rest gives us recovery, but pleasure helps us feel alive.
And play?
Play might be more necessary than we were taught.
Season 2, Episode 3: The Pleasure Principle: Why Play Ain’t Optional is out now.

One of the strongest lessons on alchemy came from my grandmother.
Fun fact: Her first experience living alone came at 85 years old!
And although it came as the result of tragedy, I watched her embrace a new chapter and use girlhood as healing.
This is just one of the reasons she's one of my heroes.
This clip is from the latest episode Mama Taught Me where I'm sharing some of the gems I got from the women who raised me.
Happy Mother’s Day!!!!
Season 2 Episode 2 of Seen with Serena Kumara is out now!
And since it’s Mother’s Day, I’m sharing a little about the women who raised me…
my mother, my grandmother
… and the lessons they gave me about ease, joy, spirit, beauty, discernment, and becoming.
It’s personal. It’s lighthearted. And some real gems are dropped.
Because sometimes the wisdom wasn’t in a lecture.
Sometimes it was in how she kept the house.
How she protected her peace.
How she chose joy.
How she stayed open.
How she made beauty a form of survival.
How she reminded you that everything is not yours to carry.

And we’re back. Season 2 Episode 1 is officially live! 🎉🔥
We’re starting Season 2 with a very personal episode about something I’ve been processing for the past several months:
I have been leading with usefulness …
And it hasn’t been doing me any favors
This was a difficult episode to record because I had to be soooo honest about the difference between being valued for what we can offer and being honored in our wholeness.
And if you’ve ever been the insightful one, the helpful one, the emotionally available one, the one people call because you make things easier, clearer, or more manageable, you might hear yourself in this episode.
And hopefully, it gives language to something you’ve felt but couldn’t name before.
Season 2 starts here.
Seen with Serena Kumara is back.
Okay, two exciting updates.
Season 2 of Seen with Serena starts this Sunday.
I’m excited. You should be too. ✨
And while we wait, I dropped a bonus episode last Sunday on something I keep seeing come up in conversations:
The Uranus opposition.
That time in your early 40s where you start to feel like:
“Wait. Why do I suddenly feel like I need to break out of a cage?”
“Why do I want to change my whole life?”
Now, y’all know me. I’m not talking like an astrologer.
I’m speaking as a practitioner who is almost always supporting someone through this exact time period: the identity shift, the life disruption, the restlessness, and the eventual clarity.
It felt incredibly timely, so it’s up there.
Listen to the bonus episode now, and meet me Sunday for Season 2.

Fun fact:
I struggle referring to myself as an author.
I’ve always considered the affirmations in 𝘜𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 channeled rather than authored. I feel like they already existed, and just flowed through me.
Which has impacted how I relate to the title of author and how much ownership I take in the creation of it.
Just like when I created the Reminder! Deck for Self Reflection, I did my usual ritual: prayer, intention setting, and then go.
My intention was crystal clear.
I wanted affirmations that were bolder and more potent than what we see so often. I wanted these affirmations to build an unapologetic, unshakable self-confidence.
They needed to be anti-humility and really shake something loose.
I wanted the girl who struggled with feeling like she’s too much to truly release that perspective.
But the biggest intention I set was that whenever you open it, you get the exact affirmation you need.
Every time I see someone open it and get exactly what they needed in the moment, I’m awestruck.
Like, I know that’s exactly what I intended, but still 😂
Something about this weekend hit different.
For the first time, I was able to witness a woman being brought to tears because she flipped to the page and said she really needed to see that affirmation.
I don’t know what affirmation it was.
She didn’t show me, and for some reason that made it even more special because it was just for her.
That’s really why I do this.
And I don’t know if y’all get how grateful I am that you trust me and my work to be a part of your self-concept and healing journeys.
Sooooooo many thank yous to those who stopped by my table, bought a book or deck, or just chatted.
And special thanks to for having me.
And also for taking this photo, cuz chile, I ALWAYS forget.⠀
