Meet Ariya Witherspoon, a talented 12-year-old student at Christ the King Catholic School whose musical journey began at just 3 years old! 🌟

Ariya started piano lessons at Park Cities School of Music and later added voice — today, she’s not only a skilled performer but also a singer-songwriter and pianist who writes both lyrics and music for her original songs. 🎤🎼

She has professionally recorded four original singles:
🎵 Keep On Running
🎵 Sticks and Stones
🎵 Right Now
🎵 All I Want
—all available on major music streaming platforms!

Ariya has already performed at Dallas Open, sang the national anthem twice for the Frisco RoughRiders, and appeared at several prominent community events. 🌟

When she’s not writing songs or performing, Ariya is also a competitive swimmer with the O2 Swim Team and a dedicated 7th grader who balances academics, athletics, and music with passion and discipline. 🏊‍♀️📚

🌟 Meet Our Teachers – Friday Spotlight ✨

This week, we’re thrilled to introduce Ms. Nairin Flores — a passionate violinist and dedicated educator whose musical journey began at just 7 years old through the Young Strings Scholarship with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. 🎻

Years of hard work and training led her to perform at prestigious venues such as the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, and as first violinist in her varsity orchestra for three years, she shined in UIL competitions, concerts, and recitals. Nairin even performed at her first wedding gig at just 15 — a true testament to her early talent and dedication!

Inspired by renowned violinist Hilary Hahn and her pianist father, Ms. Flores continues to grow as both a musician and educator. She creates an engaging, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves, develop confidence, and build a lifelong love for music. 🎶

🌟 Meet Our Teachers – Friday Spotlight ✨

This week, we’re thrilled to introduce Ms. Sofie Hernandez – a multi-talented musician and inspiring educator who brings warmth, creativity, and joy to every lesson.

🎶 Growing up in a home filled with music, Sofie was surrounded by inspiration from her talented family. With a singer/guitarist father, a drummer brother, and a sister who sings and plays piano, music became a natural part of her life. She began her own journey at just 13 with guitar and voice, later expanding her skills to clarinet, piano, and songwriting.

Over the past 10 years, Sofie’s love for music has only deepened—especially in sharing it with children. Her nurturing spirit and bright energy create a welcoming space where little ones can build confidence, explore creativity, and discover a lifelong love of music. ✨

📚 In addition to teaching, Sofie holds an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a Digital Marketing Certification from UT Austin. She is currently working toward a teaching degree and further studies in music theory to support her long-term goal in education.

We’re so grateful to have Sofie on our team, helping students grow not just in skill, but in joy and self-expression. 💕

We’re so excited to welcome young musicians to our Music Camps on October 2nd & 3rd from 9am–2pm at Park Cities School of Music!

We’re offering TWO age-tailored camps designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and a love of music:

🎺 Instrument Explorers (ages 3–5)
Little ones will discover the joy of music through percussion, small keyboards, rhythm games, and sing-alongs. They’ll build listening skills and have fun exploring sound!

🎤 Little Singers (ages 6–10)
Older kids will dive into singing with age-appropriate vocal warm-ups, group & solo practice, rhythm and harmony basics, and even mini performances with friends.

💲 Cost: $70 per child, per day
🍎 What to bring: lunch (nut-safe preferred), snack, and water bottle
🎵 We provide all instruments, sheet music & materials

🎹 This week, meet Ms. Shih-Yuan Chang – a brilliant solo and collaborative pianist with 29 years on her musical journey. She has performed with world-class ensembles such as the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and brings her passion for music into every lesson.

Her teaching is all about fostering independence, creativity, and artistry while helping students grow in technique, confidence, and musical expression. 🎶
