Shoot Safe Texas

Finished our Scouting America’s Longhorn council weekend shooting event for fourth year. Again I had a fantastic group of NRA certified instructor and range safety officer volunteers assist me in running the rifle range for over 200 youth and adults.

Our Top Shot event brings together all the range and target activities for the age appropriate youth to sample in a safe and controlled environment. We had activities like bb gun, archery, rubber bang guns, wrist rockets and more for the cub scouts to other activities for the older scouts like rifle and shotgun shooting, black powder shooting, archery, mountain man archery, etc…

I am blessed to have these same guys willing to come back year after year to work hard with me to give everyone who wanted to shoot a chance. When you see the smile on the youths and moms after their time on the range, it makes all the work worth it!

Out with our troop today working on the shotgun merit badge. The boys are really in the zone!

I am being asked to teach an LTC course in one of the upcoming weekends (Most likely Sunday, Oct 22)

18 - 20 years of age is not longer a restriction from obtaining an LTC.
