"Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. ... Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, we actually create something more unique, beautiful and resilient."

When I saw post last night reminding that today's would be last of the year, I knew --after being away for several months; ending the year where it began ... on my mat. In this studio, during her class in October 2017 (with, then, 15 year old niece Jordan), I "got" the message to take Yoga Teacher Training; couldn't imagine, at that time, the impact Yin Yoga would have on my life. Packing up today, I saw something next to my water bottle and thought it was forgotten by someone; looking closely, no doubt who placed the handmade ornament there. Thank you, m pintar--for being my Obi-wan; for inspiring me, for challenging me, for encouraging me ... most of all, for being my Friend 😘. 🧘🏾‍♀️❤🦋

Happy Winter Solstice! 🧘🏾‍♀️🦋❤

At the Winter Solstice the Sun "stands still" (that's what Solstice means) in its journey through the north and south equator. There is a battle between the dark and the light, and we have the shortest day of they year. At the Solstice we celebrate rebirth. '"On the winter solstice the sun reaches the southernmost point in its path, warming the southern hemisphere and creating summer there, while its absence cools the northern hemisphere and creates winter there. Capricorn nights are long in the north and the winter solstice is the longest, darkest one. Thus does Capricorn remind us to take a serious look at life and prepare to achieve under the difficult conditions of winter." Today we should slow down, take in the shift and to contemplate over our responsibilities and focus to shine our own light brighter. Now we have Sun and Saturn in Capricorn and we are in a week of creating new within and around us. Mythologically, in many different cultures, this marks a day of celebration and this is what people in the North (Scandinavia) believed: "In Northern Europe, the year's longest night is called "Mother Night" for it was in darkness the goddess Fr**ga labored to bring the Light to birth once more. The Young Sun, Baldur, who controlled the sun and rain and brings fruitfulness to the fields, was born. Fr**ga's blessing is invoked for all birthing women, and a white candle that last burned on the solstice is a charm to provide a safe delivery." This is truly a symbol of us birth, life, death and rebirth. It is a great time now to close the chapters of this year and embrace the new which will bring many blessings and surprises.
