Today is International Day of the Girl! 💙💛

Every girl deserves the opportunity to discover her strengths, pursue her goals, and imagine a future full of possibilities.

At Young Women’s Preparatory Network, we believe in creating those opportunities through access to a college-preparatory education, strong support systems, and the resources girls need to thrive.

When girls have access to the opportunities and resources they need, there’s no limit to what they can accomplish.

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💙

At YWPN, we know that helping girls thrive means supporting the whole student. That includes making sure they have the resources and support they need to care for their mental health.

That’s why we partnered with the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute to better understand the unique needs of girls across our schools and develop a mental health framework specifically for YWPN.

This summer, that work came to life at our annual Summer Collaborative, where the Meadows Institute introduced our school counselors to the new framework and resources. These practical tools are helping equip the professionals who are there for our students every day.

We’re proud of what this partnership means for our girls and committed to creating schools where they have the support they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders recently hosted its 15th Annual College Fair, welcoming nearly 100 colleges and universities from across the country and around the world.

From Texas to California, New York, Hawaii, the United Kingdom, China, and Spain, students connected with admissions representatives and explored majors, campus life, financial aid, internships, and more. Some met with schools already on their radars, while others discovered new colleges and programs to consider.

Through our College Success Initiative, YWPN supports students as they explore college options, prepare for their next steps, and navigate their path to and through college. Opportunities like the College Fair help students gather the information and experience they need to make informed decisions about their futures.

A special thank-you to Eric Heineman, our College Success Advisor at Ann Richards, for helping create opportunities like this for our students and supporting them throughout their college journey! ✨

Seventh-grade students at The Young Women's Leadership School of Alief ISD recently participated in the Girls STEM Pathway Program at NASA's Johnson Space Center!

Through experiences like this, our students can explore STEM fields, discover new interests, and imagine exciting possibilities for their futures.

Exploring what’s next! 🎓

Seniors at Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School recently visited four Texas universities: UTSA - The University of Texas at San Antonio, University of the Incarnate Word, St. Edward's University, and The University of Texas at Austin.

Campus tours give students a chance to see college life up close, ask questions, and start imagining where their next chapter could take them.

These experiences help our students turn college possibilities into plans for their future.

As a YWPN alumna, Emma Chalott Barron knows firsthand the difference an all-girls education can make.

A graduate of Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, Emma is a first-generation high school and college graduate. Today, she is an Associate Attorney at ByrdAdatto, PLLC, and serves on the YWPN Board of Directors.

“I support girls' education because I received so much support as a student at Irma Lerma Rangel YWLS. As the first person in my family to graduate from law school, I know firsthand how much an education can change the trajectory of a girl's life. It is a blessing to support the YWPN's mission so that young women across Texas may continue realizing their educational dreams.”
