Hello 2018, this is to announce that I will be running for re-election to Student Government as your Class Representative for next year!
I hope that you'll join me again in 2015-2016. As the Social Chair for SG and a SG Finance Committee member this year, it's been a great year serving you and I'd like to look forward to creating more great events for our class and campus next year! Thank you for supporting me earlier this year, let's do it again!

Student for Health Equity (SHE) is a truly philanthropic organization that seeks to provide a trauma center in the South Side for our communities. Imagine if you needed emergency medical attention, it could take upwards of 20 minutes for the ambulance to rush you to the closest level one adult trauma center (in the North Side)!

"More Bang for your Buck"

10/04/2014

Hello! My name is Michael Meng! I'm a first year like all of you and I am running for one of our 4 spots as a representative of the class on the College Council!
I'm a Texan with a knack for sayin' y'all and wearing oversized Texas belt buckles!
I love this community VERY MUCH, and I want to do a lot of things for us all as a community. Such as:
-Having a centralized calendar of all Events both Campus-wide and City-parties/etc
-Pushing for UPass as an option in addition to pay-per-ride Ventra Cards since I realize that not everyone may want a UPass if they do not plan on riding CTA much
-Having a very open-line of communication by allowing emailing 24/7 with ideas/complaints/bad jokes, and what-have-you and have those views represented
-Having more themed/special dining events
-Having more student-staff mixers and events to promote unity and connections. I find it really hard to meet and get to know an econ professor if you are a hum-major or talking to the fabulous Rene, Resident Head of Hitchcock, if you aren't from Hitchcock.
-Trying to loosen first-year unlimited meal plan requirements (though I am fully aware of how unbudging UChicago Dining is currently being about this) or at least attempt to lessen the cost...(fun fact; you lose/waste about 8$ every breakfast you dont eat/wake-up-for)
-Pushing for starting 4th meal before 3rd week (and it's probably not particularly fair to have it at South every single time).
*AND SO MUCH MORE!
