Your child can understand everything in Spanish — and still struggle to speak.
That's passive bilingualism. This most often happens in dual language or bilingual schools, or in bilingual homes.
So what's the fix? - Giving your child the time they need to practice speaking, in a calm and encouraging environment. So that the next time they have the opportunity to speak Spanish, they will say to themselves, "I've already done this before with my teacher... we worked on this. I know this!" And they'll be confident to speak. No one gets confident doing something unless they actually do it.

Your child won't want to learn Spanish every day.
It won't always be easy.
Some days they'll resist. Some days they'll complain. Some days they'll ask why they have to.
