Meet Coach Ben Christopherson
Head Shooting Coach

Coach Ben Christopherson is excited to bring his passion for mentoring young people to Mercy Prep Athletics. While this is his first year coaching in a school setting, he has spent years investing in his own children and is excited to now have the opportunity to encourage and challenge other young athletes.

Coach Christopherson originally attended RCC to study Business and has built a successful career in real estate. He was recently featured in Real Producers Magazine, where he was able to use the opportunity to share about his faith, family, and career.

His faith plays an important role in his desire to coach. His first memorized Bible verse was Proverbs 1:7, and he strives to live out its message each day. After spending time serving young people through church camps and other opportunities, he is excited to continue that calling through coaching.

Coach Christopherson and his wife have three children, Caleb, Luke, and Hannah. Their family loves spending time outdoors, traveling, working on projects together, and celebrating milestones. One of their favorite traditions is going out for pizza and celebrating together when a real estate transaction closes!

Outside of coaching, Coach Christopherson enjoys welding, woodworking, classic cars, and anything with a motor. He is also a Denver Broncos and Texas Rangers fan.

Fun fact: Coach Christopherson has swum in all five oceans and has traveled to eight Air Force bases around the world through his previous work with the Department of Defense!

We're excited to welcome Coach Christopherson to Mercy Prep Athletics and can't wait to see what this season holds for our Royals!

The Mercy Prep Online Spirit Shop is officially open for the month! Our school spirit shop opens on the 1st of every month and stays open through the 15th.

Mercy Prep at the Zoo!

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 11! We’re taking Mercy Prep to the zoo for a schoolwide day of fellowship and fun.

Bring the whole family and enjoy a day together outside the classroom. And yes, no one is too old for the zoo!

Police Station Field Trip

We’re excited for our elementary students to visit the Midlothian Police Department on Friday, September 4!

Our students will have the opportunity to tour the police station, learn more about the work of our local officers, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how they serve our community.

Group Times:
• Pre-K & Kindergarten: 9:00 a.m.
• 1st–3rd Grade: 9:45 a.m.

If you have siblings in different groups, you may choose one time and attend together as a family.

Please arrive on time so each group can begin promptly. We’re looking forward to a fun and educational visit!

VARSITY GIRLS WIN!

On Tuesday, Mercy Prep Royals fought through five hard-fought sets against the DasCHE Spartans, finishing strong to earn a thrilling 3-2 victory on Tuesday night.

DasCHE took Sets One (22-25) and Three (17-25), but the Royals answered each time, winning sets Two (25-21) and Four (25-22) before closing it out 15-13 in the Fifth!

Emma B. led the Royals in aces, Isabelle M. and Emma F. Led the attack in kills, and Annabelle E. anchored the defense with a strong performance at libero.

Final: Mercy Preparatory Academy 3, DasCHE 2
Record: 1-2

The Mercy Prep Royals came ready to compete on Thursday night, sweeping Park Meadows 3-0 in their second match of the week! The Royals controlled the court from the start, winning 25-16, 25-7, and 25-21.

Emma F. led the attack with 10 kills, followed by Emma B. with 5, Isabelle M. with 4 and Corree C. with 3. Emma B also served up an impressive 7 aces, with Emma F. and Annabelle E. adding 4 each.

Emma B. and Isabelle M. shared setter duties, with Isabelle stepping into the setter role for the first time ever and doing a great job helping run the offense. Annabelle E. and Reese W. anchored a strong defensive effort and serve-receive.

A complete team effort and another great night for our Royals!

Junior High

Our Junior High Royals had two great opportunities to compete and grow this past week!

On Tuesday, the Royals battled St. Paul's Preparatory in two hard-fought sets, falling 25-19 and 26-24. They battled until the very last point, made countless hustle plays, and refused to let tough balls hit the florr. The fight and determination were evident from start to finish!

Final: St. Paul's Preparatory 2, Mercy Preparatory Academy 0
Record: 0-1

Thursday brought a strong 2-1 victory over Park Meadows! The Royals won the first set 25-13, dropped the second 19-25, and finished strong with a 15-9 win in the third. Bradly B. sparked the first set with a long serving run, backed by strong passing from her teammates. Rebecca Claire F. delivered another long-serving run in the third to help the Royals jump out to an early lead. The girls also showed great teamwork with several pass-set-hit sequences, including multiple kills from Felicity S.

Final: Mercy Preparatory Academy 2, Park Meadows 1
Record: 1-1

The Junior High Royals will be back in action with games on Tuesday, September 1 at home (The Old Gym) against St. Paul's Preparatory and Thursday, September 3 (The Old Gym) against Fellowship Academy.
