I played this song over and over and over in my dorm room as a bewildered, faltering, naive teenager during my undergrad experience at Oral Roberts University.

It spoke directly to my Spirit but not until now in my early 50’s headed to a doctoral program focused on leadership do I fully understand.

With family raising mostly behind me and years of marriage, decades of lessons I am praising God, smiling through my tears for God’s preparation for his purpose in the earth, and more specifically for His preparation of my life for Him.

I have come through something! And I am grateful for God’s hand in all of it. Grateful to God… 😭🙌🏼Won’t you praise God with me?

Representation matters. That’s why I shared…

Chrisette Michele opens up about her autism diagnosis and shares how her life and its struggles now make perfect sense.

The R&B singer posted on Instagram on June 16, 2025, to deliver the big update to her fans. Chrisette Michele received her official diagnosis at age 42. She wrote, “I just learned I am autistic. Official diagnosis. They used the word Severely.” The gifted artist mentioned she had been outside singing while learning to remove the mask and process so much.

The diagnosis has given her the clarity she needed. “My life and its challenges finally make sense,” she shared. “So so much sense.” Chrisette Michele plans to share more about it soon. Her honesty is truly inspiring as she continues to grace stages with her powerful voice and demonstrate strength in her authenticity.

At the end of the day, we’re just human.

With the mistakes we make.
The unintentional harm we cause.
The disagreements we have.
The friction that occurs.

At the end of the day, we’re just human.

I’m not trying to make excuses for sin, harm, persistent toxicity, or abuse. I’m just saying… could you imagine if we looked at life through an existential lens?

At the end of one’s life, would many of the things we get so upset about really matter?

We all need God.
And we all need good mental health.

Both should be pursued.

Do you get me? What are your thoughts?

Today, I celebrate my mother for the beautiful ways she has poured into my life over the years.

I am her only child, and some of my most treasured memories are tied to her kitchen, the incredible Mediterranean and Eastern European meals she made throughout my childhood, along with the laughter, wisdom, prayers, conversations, and stories we have shared for hours across the years.

After her marriage to my father failed, she continued to pour into me as a single mother, investing deeply in both me and my education. I fully appreciate the sacrifices she made and the ways she celebrated every academic pursuit I’ve had in life. Some of my sweetest memories are the trips we took together to the Bahamas through opportunities created by her book deals, where she chose to invest in time with us, making memories together across those islands.

I’m also grateful for the love she has shown my children, and for the way she has always celebrated and supported my marriage to Robert.

Today, I simply want to say thank you for every way you have loved, sacrificed, encouraged, listened, celebrated, and shown up for me over the years.

Happy Mother’s Day, Momma! ♥️🌹
