Other Comments (if applicable)
Thank you for reaching out to me. There is so much i've wanted to tell you, but it is my fault why there was a lack of communication. My plan is for you to undertand that I know now how to make cashflow: real estate. I Am planning to know and encode real estate, entreprenuership, and swing trading in my brain because those are my passions and desires. My purpose is to help young teens how money really really works and guide them as a mentor, something I wish I had at a young age. However, one step at a time, after high school I am considering attending a trade school either or as a electricion or HVAC, its just my back up plan. I will forever keep in touch with you sir, and thank you so much for everything you done for all of us.
much love

ACAP Reflections (How involvement in ACAP helped you transition to new levels, college, etc.)
ACAP taught me what it means to lead and how to always define the precedent of every room I walk into. Simple "thank you's" and acts gratitude proved to go a long way here. ACAP taught me that I am indeed instrumental to the business industry, and that being a minority should only propel my dreams, not prohibit them. Although I am a marketing major, this one-week accounting program gave me an ample amount of time to reflect on what I loved most about my passions. This was my ideal transition to college, as it can be hard to constantly remind ourselves of who we are and how intrinsic our identities are in fields like accounting, marketing, finance, and beyond. I truly believe that without the ACAP experience, my high will to achieve, constantly excel, and dominate white spaces wouldn't exist. I love you, Dallas ACAP!

What advice would you give current ACAP students?
College is a never-ending process of "becoming." Please do not pressure yourself to transform into who you aspire to be overnight. Don't overwork yourself or over-commit to things that you don't have a loving for. Take care of yourself always, and practice good self-care habits in college. Make a list of all internships and programs you want to participate in and make LinkedIn your best friend - always update LinkedIn on what you've been up to professionally. College isn't a space to compete with others, just focus on the lane that will drive *you* to *your* destination. Please don't procrastinate. My motto is "Procrastination is the arrogant assumption that God owes you another chance to do tomorrow what he gave you the chance to do today." Make sure to live a little and have fun - you only get one undergrad experience!

Other Comments:
Thank you for always keeping me in the loop, Mr. Odell Brown. Always excited to see where Dallas ACAP is headed and how much its growing.

ACAP Reflections (How involvement in ACAP helped you transition to new levels, college, etc.)
I was completely unaware of that an accounting career encompassed, I knew nothing about college and the various majors available to me at the time I participated in ACAP. This program brought me to a college campus and introduced me to various career professionals who shared their unique life experiences and introduced me to accounting as a career option. I made the choice to major in Business Management as part of a 5 year MBA program. I concentrated my degree in Finance and Accounting and was hired to participate as the first student to be offered three internships to Goldman Sachs as a freshman in college. I also interned for Radio Shack in their audit department and for Disney Corporate in Financial Statement and Analysis. I joined the FAMU Accounting Competition team and won 1st place with Deloitte's National Case Competition on an all girl's team. I also won for AICPA Case competition amongst others. PWC offered me an opportunity to fly to Miami and attend an all expense paid conference with PWC employees where I won $1000 for college expenses. I worked as a college tutor for Florida State University Athletics program tutoring their players in financial and managerial accounting. I was ultimately offered multiple job offers to work in the Accounting career field, but I elected to start my career with P&G in Global Sourcing. I have since to date used my accounting experience to build multiple companies. I also worked as a college tutor to SMU students in accounting for 4 years.

Accomplishments to Date
I have been self employed since 2014 and have successfully managed my business and my husband's business through the accounting knowledge that was instilled at ACAP and beyond. I can truly say that this experience was a launching pad for my entire career journey and it was a turning point in my life.

P&G Global Sourcing Manager - I managed a $50 million spending budget annually and worked on a global team traveling internationally negotiating multi-million dollar contracts as a 24- year-old young professional.

I have mentored several entrepreneurs to start successful businesses.

I ran a tutoring company for four years and mentored over 100 SMU students in their accounting and business degree and helped many students gain acceptance into the Graduate program or obtain jobs.

What advice would you give current ACAP students?
You may not realize it but you are standing at a door that has been opened to you, and on the other side you cannot fully see everything that is waiting for you but it is an expansive field of opportunities. Step across the threshold with confidence knowing that others have come before you and did not leave you behind. Others paved the way for you and took the time to open that door for you. Take advantage of this opportunity and absorb all of the wisdom that is shared because these are the defining moments that will shape the future of your college and career experience.

ACAP Reflections (How involvement in ACAP helped you transition to new levels, college, etc.): I got an exposure to business via ACAP. Going on a company visit helped me envision and pursue a white collar job in business.

What advice would you give current ACAP students?
The personal finance class was very helpful! Because of the class, I did not get a credit card until post-college when I knew I would have more discipline over spending.
