Today, we come together to honor the vision of Sophia Smith, whose bold dream of women’s education has shaped generations of leaders and trailblazers. It is especially meaningful that Founder’s Day coincides with International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the achievements and power of women everywhere. Looking for ways to get involved? Visit the Founder’s Day website for the events schedule.

Can someone help this visiting Smithie out?
Hi Seven Sisters,
I have a unique request!
1) Do you live near Valley Ranch, Irving, TX (greater Dallas Fort Worth area)?
2) Are you available on 12/10 Tuesday sometime between 3:30-5pm?
If you say yes to 1 and 2, I need local in person help that I will compensate you for.
I’m traveling to Texas for dental surgery.
Being always independent, miraculously I found an Airbnb 3 minutes drives from the dental office. Figure I would Uber home when I’m done.
Somehow, they are requiring a person to collect me and bring me home after the surgery. Uber doesn’t count. Granted, I have no idea what consciousness state I would be in, despite I don’t think I’d need it, I also didn’t argue and started search for support.
I have exhausted my contacts (and their contacts) somehow timing or location not working out.
Let me know if this fits you!
Thank you!
Photo for algorithms.

“The Smith campus is defined by trees,” said Landscape Curator John Berryhill on the Smith Family Weekend tree tour this past Friday. Trees are “ecosystem engineers,” as Berryhill explained, meaning that are species that create, maintain, or modify habitats in a significant way. 🌳🌳
Here are some interesting facts about Smith’s favorite giants shared on the tour:
-The Ginkgo tree found outside of Lyman is more than 110 years old.
-If the conditions are right, Ginkgo trees can drop 70 percent of their leaves in a single day.
-The American Elm on Chapin Lawn is the oldest tree on campus
So wonderful to see so many Smithie families this weekend!
