I always tell my moms to be sure you don’t add anything to your schedule during the first few months of postpartum (or throughout your life) if you aren’t first meeting your own basic needs consistently. ❤️

Don’t be scared to have your infant sleep with you.
There are very important factors you need to be sure are in place to keep it a safe environment for your baby when your baby is in bed with you. Do your research to see what is best for you, your infant and your family.

Not to worry! You can safely sleep with your baby (co-sleep) in your bed (bed-share) or near you (room-share). There are important guidelines to follow when keeping your baby close during sleep times. (Swipe left to see a great info graph of guidelines to follow)
I’d encourage you to read about co-sleeping and evaluate your unique sleeping situation.
Here are the Safe Sleep 7 based on La Leche League International’s book, Sweet Sleep: Nighttime and Naptime Strategies for the Breastfeeding Family.
*No smoking
*Sober parents
*Breastfeeding baby

Just like your smile is contagious, your energy is contagious. If you’re anxious, your babies will tend to become anxious. If you’re relaxed, your babies will become relaxed more easily.

Story time!
I’m Sarah, a doula in Dallas! My passion to help you as a mom comes from my own difficult and beautiful experiences as a mom of 3 kids, working with parents, babies and kids for over 15 years and my doula certification from one of the largest research-based doula training organizations DONA International. With my continual professional development I keep up-to-date on all things postpartum like preparation, recovery, mom and baby bonding, couplet care, infant care, breast and bottle feeding, pumping, infant sleep, carrying and swaddling, elimination communication and diapering, family introductions to siblings and pets and much more!
I specialize in postpartum for you as a mom, your babies and your family. The focus on your basic needs is where I start before and after your baby is born. I believe if the mom is taken care of, the baby will be taken care of.
I’m the owner of The Modern Day Tribe. My doula business name comes from the Modern and up-to-date research on the relationship of your new baby along with historical and long-standing traditions of a Tribe caring for a mom and baby. The Tribe also signifies how there are many here to take care of you as a mom. When you work with me, you’re also connected with many pregnancy, birth and postpartum professionals in my in-person and virtual network. With my services and my network I provide you and your family truly wholistic care.
I’m available to you for in-person couplet care and virtual doula support. I’m excited to also bring you the online course I’ve created for all your postpartum needs and questions. Be looking for the early investment discount I’ll be offering this summer!!
