Today we were assigned and practiced our classroom jobs. Classroom jobs are an amazing way to build a sense of community in the classroom. Assigning students daily or weekly tasks gives them a sense of responsibility and ownership for their learning environment and keeps the classroom running smoothly.❤️

Today I introduced the “Wish You Well” board and song to the class. The Wish Well Board is used for the class-wide “Wish Well” when a child is absent, moving to another school, has arrived late or is in need of support for other reasons. We place the child’s picture or name in the heart inside the Wish Well Board, put our hands over our heart, take a deep breath in, pause and picture something precious in our minds, breathe out while opening our arms and sending those precious, loving thoughts out to the person we are wishing well. This experience helps students to learn empathy for one another while showing the love of Jesus for our friend who many need additional support and encouragement for the day.❤️

We say our affirmation and pray every morning to help us know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and can do all things with Jesus by our side. 🥰

Kindness counts -Today for circle time I introduced the kindness tree to the class. We discussed ways to be kind to our friends and teacher. We learned that acts of kindness can earn a heart on our school family tree and the more hearts we collect makes Jesus and our teacher very happy.❤️

Today we enjoyed working in the garden and preparing it for our new harvest 🌾

Today we made a class friendship chain. As we created the chain we talked about being connected and loving to one another just as Jesus is connected to us and loves us. We also discussed family can be anyone other than your relatives as long as they accept you for who you are, would do anything to see you smile, and loves you no matter what. We are a school family❤️
