The STEM-Works website was launched in February 2011.

The STEM-Works program supports volunteers that are working in their local communities to increase science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills in our nation. On that site teachers, STEM professionals, parents, mentors and club leaders will find projects, activities, and events related to three topics: Robotics, Forensics and Wind Energy. SMU CSI Camps 2015 07/22/2015

Today was the last day of the last session of our SMU CSI Camp 2015!

We had a presentation by a forensic pathologist, a forensic anthropology and gait lab, and we had a visit from the Denton County SWAT Team!

We had a great time throughout all the camps, and all of our campers learned a lot!

SMU CSI Camps 2015 07/21/2015

Today is the second day of our fourth session of SMU CSI Camp, and it has been a lot of fun!

We've had an FBI Presentation, Fingerprint Dusting with the SMU PD, a Fingerprint Sensor, a presentation by the SMU SWAT Team, DNA Extraction, and Iris Recognition!

We can't wait for tomorrow!

SMU CSI Camps 2015 07/20/2015

Today is the first day of our last session of SMU CSI Camp! Today, we have a great group of boys who are all very excited for this session!

We started today with a presentation by a detective from the Dallas Police Department.

Our campers learned all about crime scenes!

After the presentation, we came across a crime scene of our own! We would have been worried, but with all the new knowledge from the presentation, our campers were ready to solve the crime!

Session 3 of our SMU CSI Camp ended today!

We had a forensic pathologist - medical examiner come and explain what she really does on the job, a forensic anthropology and gait lab, a facial recognition lab, and we had a visit from the Denton County SWAT team!

Session 3 was SO much fun, and we're sad to see it end, but we are so glad our campers learned so much!

Our third session of SMU CSI Camp started off with a ton of excitement yesterday! We had great presentations, a crime scene of our own, a paper chromatography activity, and a soil analysis lab!

Today was the last day of Session 2.

For our last day, we had a Medical Examiner, Forensic Anthropology, and a Gait Lab. We had a visit from the Denton County SWAT Team. We ended our session with a facial recognition lab, and group pictures!

Today was the first day of the first session of SMU CSI camps, and it was a huge success! We had 17 girls from the 6th and 7th grade participate, and they were wowed by all the exciting activities! We had exciting presentations by a real detective and a deputy, and we got to experience a real crime scene of our own!

Day 1 was filled with excitement, and we can assure you that the rest of the camp will bring even more fun filled science!
