COMIC STRIP
A Day in the Life of a PWD (Person With a Disability)
Frame 1:
A woman in a wheelchair and her friend are talking to an acquaintance.
ACQUAINTANCE: Just remember to stay positive! "The only disability in life is a bad attitude"
Frame 2:
WOMAN (rolling her eyes): Oh, trust me, if 'positivity' changed staircases into ramps, eliminated chronic pain, and stopped people from spouting ableist tropes, I'd be blowing kisses and farting rainbows all day long!
Her friend laughs.

Transparency around accessibility is so important.
It’s better to be upfront that a place is up a flight of stairs than to take out a makeshift ramp or offer to carry us when we arrive.
Answering honestly allows the disabled person to make an informed decision and saves us time and dignity.

Make Your Voice Heard! Say No to the Proposed Acadia Parish Sexually Oriented Businesses Ordinance
A private lifestyle club in Acadia Parish, LA did a tremendous amount of research prior to buying the property where they would like to construct their new club. They spoke to the City, Police Jury, Louisiana State, and permitting offices before opening, and were told there were no restrictions. The local authorities responded to their obtaining a building permit with a fallacious and overregulated ordinance which would prohibit them from opening.
The Police Jury intends to vote on the new Sexually Oriented Businesses Ordinance on December 10th, 2024, so time is of the essence for you to tell them to vote NO. You can view the entire proposed ordinance on the NCSF website, which has some of the most restrictive language we’ve ever seen.
We would like you to call, email, or write both the Acadia Police Jury and the local press. These kinds of laws are an affront to free trade, personal freedom, and privacy rights.
Go to the NCSF website for talking points and email addresses for the local authorities and media - https://ncsfreedom.org/2024/11/07/call-to-action-say-no-to-the-proposed-acadia-parish-sexually-oriented-businesses-ordinance/
